The story behind the "Villa by the Sea"...In 1997, Jack and Dorie found the site for their future home. It was a modest 1950's bungalow (see photo). They were truly taken away with the location ... 1/2 block from Marine Street beach, unlimited ocean views and the constant calming sounds from the sea. At our 1997 dinner meeting discussing the ultimate purchase of the home; Jack drew his "vision" of his Italian Villa on a napkin. Fast forward, after immense thought in design and construction, the home was complete for move-in March 2000. Very special and endearing features of the home are the familial artistic touches created by Jack's sister who hand painted tiles adorned in the arched gateway, both primary and secondary bathroom showers, primary room fireplace and patios. Jack and Dorie's design was to make it a quality built "lock and leave" home.
